Learning not to over shoot - Snake Desert Survival

As you'll read in the credits for the game, this was supposed to be a project for MiniJam 53: Oasis.

Except it wasn't exactly like this when it started. To explain...

This would've been my second participation to a Game Jam, so I wanted it to be huge! It started off as another project entirely, in fact. Knowing the restriction of the Jam was permadeath, I wanted to try making a roguelike. With a big snake with a sword, no less. But... that project never started. I spent two days trying to make it work, and failed.

Knowing I wouldn't make it in time to the Jam anymore, I just restarted the project to something more manageable that I knew I could accomplish.

So, that's how Snake Desert came to be. It wasn't as big or as impressive as the original idea, but this is something I'm still proud of. I wasn't enjoying working on "the best game ever" as much as I enjoyed finishing Snake Desert Survival.

I learned even more how much I like restricted palettes and this sort of Atari-ish pixelart style was relaxing to try and do. Couldn't manage to come up with good music for it, but you'll find credits for that in the game page.

Thanks to anyone who will play it and enjoy it - my current highscore is around 5200 points, so I'll want to see if anyone can pass that!
